I have been an avid fan of Peros for years!
Their food and service is great, I especially enjoy going on trivia night, definitely make a reservation if you're going on trivia night

We live in the Rocky Hill area and visit Pero's several times a month.  The inside dining area is cozy.  The patio is nicely landscaped and the tables aren't crowded on top of one another.  The pastas are definitely the best thing on the menu, but I've never disliked anything I've ordered.

The only two things I've found to be lacking at Pero's are the service and the Sangria.  The service isn't terrible, but rarely attentive.  Often servers are unable to answer questions about the menu or beer list.  Again, nothing worthy of complaining, just not great.  The Sangria on the other hand is beyond bad.  I've tried both the red and white, and both tasted like wine and Sprite mixed with an orange slice dropped in it.  I only mention this to prevent others from wasting their $7.  Other than that, my family really likes this place!

Came with a friend for dinner, bypassed the back room which was crowded and very loud and went into the front dining area, which was not as noisy. Service was very good. I had the eggplant Parmesan and ordered a single meatball with sauce because I heard their sauce was really good.  I was not disappointed their marinara sauce is great. I can see why this is a neighborhood favorite. The portions were large and the food was delicious. Took the leftovers home and had a nice lunch the next day. I'd like to come back soon and try some of their other items soon.

Pero's does well what Pero's does well. If it's not their specialty then I have to rate it just mediocre.

So they do sauces really well. I mean. Really really well. The house red sauce is really meaty and robust. The alfredo is creamy and flavorful. The buffalo. Oh wait up. The buffalo you guys. That buffalo sauce is full of heat. And it's good. Really good. Does Pero's need to get into the wing business? Well either way. The reason I know the sauces are good is because I asked for some samples so I can dip my fries. (Sounds weird I know. But it's good.)

Anyways. If you go I recommend you get a pasta. See explanation above.

The thing is. I didn't order a pasta. Instead, lesser delish items. I found the pizza just kinda meh. The garlic knots were bland. The orzo was really dry. Fries and sandwich and chicken parm were good. My full glass of full bodied red wine nectar of the gods helped. Nothing was outstanding. Except that sauce. Lesson learned for next time. Oh and I personally found the fried twinkie lame. Skip it.

Thought I'd give this place a second chance but it was definitely a second mistake.  I've had better tv dinners!!  Cold, bland and underwhelming.  The Alfredo was like water, bread was soggy, floppy and ENTIRE meal was void of any seasoning.  On a good note..hard to screw up a Mimosa.  Shoula had a few more obviously!!
